Coach User Guide — Pitch Tracker

Quick reference for entering players, pitch counts, and interpreting alerts.

Overview

This guide explains how coaches use the Pitch Tracker webapp to manage rosters and record pitch counts. It covers where to add players, how to enter pitch counts during or after games, and how to read the colour-coded warnings and messages the app shows.

How to Enter Players

  1. Open your team's roster page in the app.
  2. Locate the roster or Players section.
  3. Click Add Player (or similar). If your team is not shown, choose it from the dropdown menu. If the player is a different age than the default age, choose the appropriate age. Enter the remaining details and click 'Add Player'.
  4. You'll see the pending new player listed below. If you have more players to enter, repeat the process until your roster is entered.

How to Enter a Pitch Count

  1. After the game ends, sign in to the app using your email and password.
  2. Click on 'Submit Pitch'. If you have control to more than one team, click the appropriate team.
  3. The current date is chosen by default. Change it if you need a previous date.
  4. Set the time that the game started at.
  5. Choose the player from the drop down menu and then enter the total amount of pitches thrown. NOTE: if a player is not listed, it is because they were not eligible to pitch that game.
  6. Click Submit Pitch Count Save the entry. The data entry fields will clear and you can enter other pitchers who threw in that game.
  7. When all pitchers have been entered, you can click 'Back to Teams' and you'll be brought back to the Coach Dashboard. You'll now see a current status of all your players.
Note: Pitch counts are to be entered at the end of the game only — do not record live during play.

Colour Coding & Messages

The app shows simple colour statuses to indicate whether a player is available to pitch, or must rest.

Green: Can pitch — player is within allowed limits and available today.
Yellow: Can pitch tomorrow — player is on a rest restriction today but will be eligible the following day.
Red: Cannot pitch — player is on mandatory rest and can not pitch today.

Messages

Colour/status rules are determined by your club's pitch-limit and rest-day settings. If a status looks incorrect, email rob.winship@wcbabaseball.ca with the player and game details.

Public Availability & How the Public Uses the Page

The public-facing page shows limited pitch summary data for each team. It is intended for parents and spectators to see up-to-date pitch counts without admin access.
